On the all-new Bentley Continental GT Convertible, even the optional extras have optional extras.
From the polished and painted tri-spoke wheels to the unique Z-fold convertible roof, this latest offering from the British carmaker is the height of open-top opulence. And we’d expect nothing less from a brand celebrating its centenary this year.
The Continental GT Convertible is a four-wheeled celebration of individuality. Perhaps the greatest Grand Tourer to roll off Bentley’s production line, it affords drivers a level of customisation usually only found in the brand’s bespoke Mulliner workshop.
Choose from 70 exterior paint colours, three Bang & Olufsen sound systems, or customise your console with Côtes de Genève finishing, a delicate surfacing often found inside the finest Swiss watches.
However you want to alter this drop-top to your tastes, Bentley will do its utmost to make it happen. Even after you’ve chosen from 15 carpet options, seven roof colours and taken ownership of your car, there are still changes to be made. The seats adjust in 20 ways and incorporate ‘neckwarmers’ — jets of hot air that pair with the heated steering wheel and armrests.
There are fewer choices under the bonnet, but with a 6.0-litre engine capable of 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds that powers you to a top speed of 207mph, we doubt you’ll have many qualms. The eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel-drive system give a powerful and responsive driving experience that handles the might of Bentley’s newest.
This car caps a century of what Bentley does best: giving drivers the chance to make a statement but never relinquishing control of the engineering. And with this quality of performance, why would they?
