Arguably the high point of any high-end holiday comes when you recline by your private pool, expertly-made mojito in hand, and sun yourself. We’ve been to our fair share of luxury resorts, but this simply-furnished, basically-designed resort, the Casa Cook Kos Hotel, is truly one of the best.
What’s more, the Greek destination has a surprise up its sleeve: the ‘Cook’ in its name refers to none other than British package holiday titans Thomas Cook. Branching into the more exclusive holiday market, Thomas Cook are offering guests, for a little over £1,000 per week, a villa with a private pool that is a stone’s throw from the Casa Cook Beach Club.
Casa Cook, a new breed of beach hotels, are all about minimalist shared destination vacations – and this Greek getaway is by far our favourite. Set under the sun in Kos, the relaxed, simple beach chic hopes to offer a new holidaying experience for guests — with a balanced, considered mix of shared and private areas.
The 100 rooms, split between suites and multilevel villas, are furnished in a minimalist style to prevent anything getting in the way of the natural beauty that surrounds the villas. We’re talking artisan pots, dull grey sun loungers and wicker lampshades to bring city sophistication to a rustic seaside resort.
The buildings have been designed by Mastrominas Architects in a traditional concrete cubist style to reflect the local architecture of the Greek villages surrounding the hotel — another respectful touch you wouldn’t get with your usual resort high-rises, or even glassy 5-star developments.
The shared buildings, of which the Casa Cook Beach Club is the centre point, are located around a communal square, with pool and bar. But, if even this isn’t private enough for you, and you still prefer more solitude, then Casa Cook still have you covered.
With their fully appointed villas, that come equipped with lounge chairs under a pergola next your private pool, the brand have perfected the quiet escape — that forever-Instagrammable haven where the sun always shines and you can enjoy some well-deserved down time. Now, where’s our mojito?
