Crockett & Jones goes back to black (again) this autumn
Three more styles, still one sole — meet this years’ new additions to the Black Editions collection...
With the season of roaring open fires, falling leaves and your staple cashmere jumper fast approaching, master shoemakers Crockett & Jones is on hand to give your wardrobe an effortless autumn update with a long anticipated sequel to its chic AW18 collection. Introducing: The Black Editions II.
After last year’s appreciation for something ‘a little different’, Crockett & Jones is introducing three more styles to the Black Editions family in time for the cooler months. In keeping with last year’s designs, these new pairs continue to draw inspiration from Japanese design, and each style features an oversized, ‘cleated’ rubber sole made using contemporary black leathers.
A beautiful boot: Coniston
The word ‘iconic’ must be amongst the most overused in the English language, but we are not being hyperbolic when we use it to describe the Coniston design. A market-leading cap toe Derby boot that proudly takes place in thousands of footwear collections all over the world —there is always room for another pair of Coniston. And now, their introduction into the Black Editions II collection means they are now available in a much anticipated black colour-way.
A country classic: Pembroke
Pembroke is Crockett & Jones’ classic full brogue country-style derby design, which has more than proved its salt as part of the brand’s collection for over three decades. This season, the design has been supercharged for the Black Editions II, and made using Black Scotch Grain — taking the Pembroke from its country origins to the forefront of oversized fashionable prominence.
A fashion-forward loafer: Henley III
Perhaps the boldest inclusion in the new collection, the Henley III is the most fashion-forward choice from the trio. Crockett & Jones might be best known for its traditional, classic styling, but this season they are daring to be a little different. Made using Black Cavalry Calf, the Henley III combines high quality, classically recognised upper, with an oversized cleated Vibram rubber sole — and has our seal of style approval.
