When spring rolls around, the whole Gentleman’s Journal team waits — with bated breath and open wallets — for new collections and innovations to drop from our most trusted brands. And this year, we haven’t been short-changed. The Morgan Motor Company has revealed its first new clean-sheet design since 2000. Gozney has fired up a new-and-improved pizza oven. We’ve even discovered two new, pioneering brands; XOR’s super-secure mobile phones and Bouvet’s incredible electric jet-ski.
Even the more established brands are launching limited editions and vintage-inspired ranges. Breitling’s latest timepiece takes its style cues from a 1960s Triumph Motorcycle, for example — and Bang & Olufsen is celebrating one of its most iconic turntables with a refined reissue, 50 tuneful years later. Fire up: Breitling Premier Top Time Triumph Limited Edition
The last slice of high-octane horology from the Swiss watchmaker is inspired by the swish motorcycling scene of the mid-1960s. The new limited chronograph — created in partnership with Triumph Motorcycles — has statement oversized mushroom pushers, a high-contrast tachymeter scale and an icy-blue ‘Zorro’ dial.
Wave on: Bouvet ‘Supermarine MM01' Jet Ski
Billed as ‘the Bugatti of the sea’, this seriously swift, all-electric jet ski has been hand-built from lightweight Kevlar carbon and was designed by aerospace engineers. Beyond those titanium handlebars, it’s got a state-of-the-art navigation system, a 300 horsepower engine (delivering a wave-cutting top speed of 75mph), and a champagne holder — naturally.
All tied up: New & Lingwood ‘St James' Paisley Dressing Gown
Even if you’re no longer working from home, your natty nightwear still deserves attention. Slice of life: Gozney ‘Dome’ Outdoor Pizza Oven
After selling out in mere hours last year, pizza oven pioneers Gozney have released another drop of their most innovative oven; the ‘Dome’. Giving al fresco eating enthusiasts the chance to roast, smoke, steam or bake their food at temperatures of up to 500℃, this handsome bit of gastronomic kit can cook an authentic restaurant quality pizza in just 60 seconds. Neat.
Raise a glass: Penderyn ‘Hiraeth’ Whisky
Commemorating the wonderful Welsh word ‘Hiraeth’ — which loosely translates as ‘a longing for your homeland and heritage’ — this limited edition whisky from Penderyn has been finished in ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 46%. If you’re looking to raise a (slightly delayed) glass to St David’s Day, there are few bottles better than this smooth single malt, with notes of vanilla, cinnamon spice and toffee apples.
Turn it up: Bang & Olufsen ‘Beosystem 72-22’ Sound System
Never a brand to do things by halves, Bang & Olufsen are celebrating the anniversary of an iconic product in high-end, high-volume style. It’s been fifty bassy years since the ‘Beogram 4000 Series’ turntable first spun to life; and this limited-run recreation (only 30 will be made) features a revamped 4000 Series deck, matching Beolab 18 stereo speakers and a Beoremote Halo control.
Get the jump: Aubin & Wills ‘Westport’ Aran Jumper
After this great British brand relaunched, rebranded and repositioned itself last year, we’ve been waiting for every new collection or capsule Aubin & Wills has to offer. This Aran jumper, knitted using British wool from sheep roaming the Pennine Hills, is the cornerstone of the best range so far — finished with a cable stitch, raglan sleeves and a crew neckline.
Spin your wheels: Morgan Super 3 Roadster
Built upon the car brand’s new three-part aluminium platform, this new highly-configurable Morgan continues the company’s 113-year legacy of three-wheeled cars. Featuring a horseshoe front grille, a streamlined tail and a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, it’ll offer lucky motorists an entirely unique driving experience.
In the bag: Bennett Winch ‘The Large Cargo’ Holdall
Never was the name ‘holdall’ more accurately ascribed to a product. From British luggage-makers Bennett Winch, this vast zip-up bag has a capacity of 125 litres (that’s over 40 Jeroboams of the finest fizz, if you’re looking for a suitably sumptuous point of comparison). With Tuscan leather trim, London welded brass hardware and a discreet external storm pocket, it’s ideal for any long-haul, long-planned escapes.
