From an Hermès watch to Sunspel's lambswool crew neck, these are the things we're spending our cash on
Everybody needs to treat themselves from time to time, and that's exactly what we're doing. Each month, we're presenting to you our edit of the things we're buying right now to make us that little bit happier and more fulfilled, whether it's a watch from Hermès, one of Sunspel's super-soft knits or Horace's blemish-covering wonder concealer.

Sunspel knit
Because we all need something to get us through winter’s doldrum, we're looking to British label Sunspel. With Over 160 years of British craftsmanship and pioneering fabric innovation behind it, Sunspel, which has a new outpost among the big boys on Jermyn Street, does a very nice knit. Case in point: this sweater uses wool from the oldest spinner in Fife. Once knitted, the garment is washed in Scottish spring water to make it beautifully soft.
Horace Healthy Glow Fluid
Horace seems to be the grooming brand of the moment and, lets face it, who doesn’t need a healthy glow in the dark winter months. It was recently used backstage at some of the men's shows in Paris - see French label Fursac, which took to the runway for the first time - and if it's good enough for models under the glaring lights, it's good enough for us.
Tracksmith Turnover Tights
An absolute essential for the brisk winter runs, it’s immediately clear that the Turnover Tights from Tracksmith are the result of some meticulous research and development. They’re (understandably) tight, whilst not being too tight, and the gel and key pockets, paired with the minimal waistband make for a cosy and comfortable piece of kit.
Katto Chefs Knife
You don't need to have the skills of Jamie Oliver to make a decent meal, but you do need the tools. Ideal for cutting through all those hardy bits of winter produce – squash, daikon, great big chunks of chuck –, Katto's knife brings your kitchen a touch closer to the Noma aesthetic.
Rimowa Original Cabin
Instantly recognisable because of its grooved design, and suitable for the cabin, Rimowa makes packing a pretty desirable task. But it isn't just about refines looks and hype appeal. Each of the suitcases features TSA-approved locks that can be opened by security during airline baggage checks without causing any damage. Now that's a plus for when your baggage inevitably goes AWOL! Now, to actually choose a winter getaway.

Todd Snyder, creative director of Woolrich Black Label, is the American fashion designer making waves for the stories brand. More luxe than the main line, the Black Label consists of pieces such as this cardigan, which is ideal for layering during chilly winter days, thanks to its classic design and timeless style.
Diptyque Baies candle
There is nothing better than lighting a candle during cold winter evenings, and the Diptyque Baies is the perfect addition to creating a cozy atmosphere. Hermès H08 watch, 42 mm
Hermès is making a lot of noise in the fine watch space. At Gentleman’s Journal we have never fully been sold on fashion brand watches, however given Hermès commitment to quality matched with in-house movements, we are fans. Like any of Hermès other products - take its bags for instance - its been manufactured like art: a satin-brushed titanium watch coated with matte black DLC, featuring a sunburst satin-brushed titanium bezel with mirror-polished chamfers, black-gold treated circular satin-brushed minutes disk, Hermes Manufacture movement H1837 inside and a black nickel-treated dial.
Studio Nicholson Piston jacket
Leather jackets are having a major moment in menswear, and it has nothing to do with the fact Elon Musk thinks he can pull one off. OMEGA Speedmaster Pilot
