This year, with the world reopening its borders and summer travel taking off once more, we’ve turned to the model and photographer for his perfect capsule collection. From white denim and camp-collars to the best sneakers and slip-ons for summer, here’s Johannes Huebl’s guide to a warm weather wardrobe…

Johannes says: “I love this easy-to-wear, Riviera-style camp-collar shirt. It’s perfect for any summer cocktail party, with or without a light jacket — or just a pair of swim trunks at the beach club. The chest pocket, especially, is ideal for sunglasses valet tickets or Tic Tacs.”
Applied Art Forms White Denim Jeans
Johannes says: “I’m a big fan of white denim all-year-around — but, of course, especially during the summer. These AAF jeans are made from Japanese denim, they have a great feel to them and a perfect cut. The minimal details are exactly what I’m looking for in a pair of jeans. I’ll be living in these all summer.”
Loro Piana Summer Walk Moccasins
Johannes says: “These dark grey Loro Piana loafers are my new summer travel companions. They’re the very idea of comfortable shoes. They’re also so easy to match with basically every outfit — from summer suits to beach shorts, from denim to cargo pants. And you will never get blisters, which is a big summer plus.”
Thom Sweeney Shirt Jacket
Johannes says: “They call it a jacket, but it’s a summer linen overshirt. This is probably my favourite new item for the summer. It goes perfectly with most of my wardrobe, it’s lightweight — made from linen — and it gives a really elegant, but intently casual look to any of my day or evening outfits.”
Applied Art Forms Cargo Shorts
Johannes says: “When the temperatures are soaring, I need to wear shorts — and these AAF cargo shorts have the right amount of cargo, with a military touch of tailoring. I wear them with linen shirts or T-shirts, espadrilles or loafers. They’ll accommodate your upper body choice of clothing quite handsomely.”
Frescobol Carioca Sport Swim Shorts
Johannes says: “Frescobol Carioca does really nice swim trunks. They dry quickly, they fit great, they’ve got an elevated look and they’re very comfortable. They’ve also got colourways and patterns for every different preference. I haven’t seen this grey version very often on the beach — so I’ll be taking them to Italy this summer.”
Belstaff Military Cotton Shirt
Johannes says: “Another favourite of mine is my Belstaff Military Cotton Shirt. Once again, it’s the right mixture of casual and military — and allows one to wear it up or down, with an off-white blazer and slacks or just a pair of dark demin jeans. I really enjoy the idea of wearing my favourite items in multiple different ways.”
Santoni Leather Sneakers
Johannes says: “My new favourite white sneakers are these from Santoni. I’ve been wearing their shoes for a long time and have not ever encountered a pair that wasn’t very comfortable or well-made. The craftsmanships at Santoni is superb, and these sneakers are elegant enough to be paired with most of the items in my closet — and still make you look great.”
Drake’s Linen Shirt
Johannes says: “Drake’s and shirts make a formidable match. They just do them so well — and this white linen, spread collar version gives me 70s vibes. It has updated proportions, the feel of the linen is very soft and it’s ideal for hot temperatures.”
