New & Lingwood’s AW17 collection is loud, textured and avant-garde
Three-piece suits, silk dressing gowns and monkstrap shoes will see out 2017 for the tailor
Nobody seems to have told New & Lingwood that winter’s on its way. The internationally-renowned shirt and shoemaker have just unveiled their AW17 collection – and it’s brighter, bolder and more striking than ever. So don’t worry about the clouds and rain coming, for these are the clothes that will keep shining throughout the season.

There’s nothing quite so bold and daring as a patterned suit. Opt for a patterned shirt or tie, and it can be tempered by a softer coloured suit, but throw your checks, stripes or print onto your suit itself and you’re really making a statement. And New & Lingwood are shouting even louder this season, as they’re patterning up the three-piece.

From the Elstow – a mid-striped grey suit with double-breasted waistcoat – to the monochrome and tightly-checked Woodland, the patterns are striking, whilst keeping the cuts classic. Chicksan is a navy and green tartan three-piece, and possibly the epitome of bold meets refined; New & Lingwood’s signature style.

To embrace the colder seasons, New & Lingwood’s AW17 has jumped aboard the jumper bandwagon and crafted a range of knitwear ensured to warm you up but keep you looking cool. The Trellis cable-knit roll-neck jumper comes in a turquoise, dark olive or deep red – bringing bold colour to the autumn and winter months.

But, even if you like your knitwear a little lighter, the tailor have catered for your tastes. The new Cashmere roll-neck sweater is a must-have for smart casual suiting this season, to be worn on its own – or paired with a suit or blazer to dress it up.

Continuing their signature tradition of boldly patterned silk dressing gowns, New & Lingwood are storming into AW17 with yet more designs adorning their classic cut nightwear. From the orange Paisley to blue Leaf – which also boasts an enviably soft quilted collar – the tailors are ensuring that your nights will be just as fashion-forward as your days.

But the textures don’t end there. The avant-garde Apsley collection sees traditional cuts reinvented – new life breathed into older styles through the use of new textures. A subtly-patterned burgundy velveteen is offered in either a lapelled waistcoat or knee-length jacket – something new for this season we haven’t seen before, and has already shot to the top of our want list.

With the colder weather fast approaching, autumn and winter are the seasons for accessories. And, this year, New & Lingwood have gone bigger than ever. Their signature bold patterns and colours continue in their assorted silk scarves and ties – with patterns from floral to geometric and everything in between offered.

The print synonymous with the brand, the Skulls & Bones motif, also is triumphantly reinvented into a new collection of silk tie and mid-length or long cotton socks. And, for those inevitable British showers, patterned umbrellas are also on offer. The camouflage offers a bold look, but we prefer the yellow and red striped twill.

Across the sartorial board, monkstrap shoes are in. But trust New & Lingwood to up the game, and bring some real panache and striking style to the design. We’re talking double-straps, grain leather and even brogue detailing to lift their footwear offerings above the crowd.

And the shoes don’t end there. Suede and leather multi-textured boots are in, the brown booting is stronger than ever and, if you’re looking for the ultimate black tie shoe, the tailor’s patent pump black slipper – adorned with bow – is the natural choice.
