Watches of the Week: Omega’s new Seamaster Diver 300M range

Strap-up like 007 himself

Serious and sophisticated, the first of Omega’s latest Seamaster Diver 300M models was originally spotted on Daniel Craig, who donned a stainless-steel option in black (more below) when out and about at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Now, the horology house has revealed the full range. Originally introduced in 1993, this line has been one of the label’s most famed water-bound creations – and this season, the new versions move away from the ‘familiar ceramic style of recent years’, and instead their cues come from the Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, which was made famous in No Time To Die. The same domed sapphire crystal – a feature that imbues each timepiece with a throwback feel – is used, and the mesh strap is kept, too (there’s also the choice to have a rubber bracelet). Models include: a stainless-steel build with a grade-5 titanium bezel and a brushed PVD stainless-steel dial; and a stainless-steel design with a black-aluminium bezel and black-aluminium dial that exhibits laser-engraved waves. In the engine room is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, a function that’s apparent through the sapphire-crystal caseback.
