Step into autumn with Ettinger’s new leather essentials

With a new season comes the opportunity to take stock of your wardrobe and refresh those much-loved essentials that have become a little worn. But, of course, this season is not like most. After all, why buy a new suit when the one you bought in February barely got used? And do you really need a new pair of dress shoes when the festive season is going to be limited to socially distanced parties for six?
However, while it may be a tricky time for upgrading your wardrobe, it is the perfect time to be investing in seasonless accessories that just get better with age. And this is where Ettinger comes in. The British brand has been creating exquisite leather goods since the 1930s, building a loyal clientele that returns year after year for its wide ranging accessories, classic wallets and sophisticated bags.
Launched in 2018, Ettinger’s Capra collection has quickly become one of the brand’s best sellers and, for autumn 2020, it is expanding with nine new covetable designs. Alongside the existing range of tech cases, wash bags, passport covers and pouches, from September, the Capra collection will also include a double watch roll, pill case, glasses case, two zipped boxes, a cash clip and three new types of flask.
In homage to the material favoured by founder Gerry Ettinger, who designed the brand’s original products back in the 1930s, all of the designs in the Capra collection are crafted in fine goat leather. Supple, durable and lightweight, the leather is naturally water resistant, making it perfect for all-weather accessories, and can be dyed in rich hues. Along with the existing black, marine blue and tan colourways, for autumn Ettinger is also adding a chic forest green shade across the entire Capra collection.
“Since re-introducing the goat leather into our portfolio, we have been delighted by its appeal and success and so have decided to move some of our other popular products into the Capra Collection to give our customers more variety,” says Ettinger CEO Robert Ettinger. “Its combined softness and resilience work well for everyday life demands and whilst we eagerly await a return to ‘normal’ life and travel, our customers can choose new personal accessories for themselves or as gifts for family and friends. ‘Buy once, buy well’ remains key to our brand philosophy.”
Like all Ettinger products, it is the attention to detail that goes into the Capra collection which makes it really stand out. Every piece in the range is lined in a silver-grey jacquard displaying the Ettinger logo while super soft pig suede has been used for those products, such as watch rolls and zip boxes, that require extra protection. Of course, as a mark of authenticity and quality, each piece is also embossed with the Ettinger logo and Royal Warrant while those looking for that really special gift can monogram almost every piece with up to five characters.
So with 31 pieces to choose from in this extensive collection, the only question now is which one will you buy first?
