From slick city boltholes redefining comfort to wellness centres that marry luxury and innovation, these are the stand-out stays we’re eagerly anticipating.
Hôtel du Couvent, Nice
Perseus, the group behind The Pigalle in Paris, have painstakingly restored a 17th-century convent in Vieux Nice. It was unveiled in June and offers Roman baths, a movement studio, a lap pool with views over the Mediterranean, and even a resident herbalist in the cloister.
Six Senses La Sagesse
Secluded by lush greenery on Grenada’s south coast, the new Six Senses La Sagesse is a tucked-away coastal retreat that occupies a prime spot between rolling waves and sandy shallows. Suites and villas extend across 38 acres within the land’s natural topography and lend themselves to indoor-outdoor living, with plunge pools and terraces that boast uninterrupted sea views.
Janu Tokyo
The Aman Group’s new Janu Tokyo is the first hotel to open in the Japanese capital’s sprawling Azabudai Hills development, a newly-completed urban village with 24,000 square metres of public green space. In addition to its 122 suites and rooms that feature floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies and Asian-inspired interiors, Janu also boasts eight restaurants, two boutiques, and one of the largest wellness centres in Tokyo.
The Emory, London
From Maybourne Hotel Group, operators of legendary London hotels Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley, comes an elegant all-suite hotel designed by world-renowned architects Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbo. Situated in the heart of Belgravia and overlooking Hyde Park, The Emory serves as a sanctum of style amidst the hustle and bustle of London’s most upmarket neighbourhood.
Rosewood Amsterdam
Housed in the former Palace of Justice, Rosewood Amsterdam will honour the property’s original elements and distinctive Dutch identity while capturing the energy of contemporary Amsterdam. The hotel will offer 133 guest rooms and suites, many boasting impressive views across the adjoining canals, serene internal courtyards and iconic townhouse rooftops.
SHA Mexico
Cult-favourite Spanish medispa SHA has finally arrived in the Americas, having just opened a new centre on a secluded stretch of Caribbean coastline in Mexico. Oceanfront accommodation is just the beginning. Bespoke health programs, nutritious seasonal dishes and state-of-the-art facilities are all designed to make guests — wellness obsessives and reluctant rookies alike — feel more like themselves in no time.
Four Seasons Hotel Rabat at Kasr Al Bahr
Formerly a Sultan’s summer residence, the historic Kasr Al Bahr — “Palace by the Sea” — is well and truly fit for a king. The majestic 18th-century property, set amid twelve acres of lush gardens, has been wonderfully restored to bring together vibrant dining venues, a tranquil spa and resort-style recreation. Raffles Jaipur
Surrounded by the Aravalli Hills at the heart of India's Golden Triangle, Raffles Jaipur will be an exclusive 50-room palace hideaway. Inspired by Mughal architectural tradition and crafted from white marble, the effect is majestic yet refined. Highlights of the hotel will include a rooftop pool and bar, a 24-hour butler service and a holistic wellness program.
Odera Tinos
Combining modern luxury with Greek island charm, the recently-opened Odera Tinos aims to embody the romance of “the handmade island” of Tinos. The resort’s 77 rooms and suites all feature private pools and reflect the surrounding environment through earthy tones and natural materials. The Cycladic influence extends to the Dimitris Skarmoutsos-helmed restaurant, which offers local dishes and hand-picked Tinian wines.
Corinthia Rome
The former Central Bank of Italy, ideally located on Parliament Square with Piazza Navona and the Pantheon on its doorstep, was recently transformed into a luxury 60-room hotel. It’s safe to say we can expect the same gold standard that Corinthia hotels are so renowned for: highlights will include a world-class spa, elegant cocktail bar and rooftop with stunning city views.
