Innovative and elegant, the 48 Wallytender is making waves in boat design

With a vast swim platform, advanced anchoring system and top speed of 38 knots, the latest versatile vessel from Wally defies all expectations

Where’s Wally? With the latest, incredibly capable tender from the Monaco-based brand, it could be anywhere. The 48 Wallytender boasts the new Volvo IPS 650 engine, a lightweight composite construction and a top speed of 38 knots.

It’s a masterclass in both form and function; a versatile vessel allowing even the most ardent adventurers to explore every inlet, bay and stretch of the seven seas. And that’s before we even touch on those reliably sleek, Luca Bassani-designed looks.

This latest launch takes the original, iconic Wallytender design and pushes its innovation even further. The fold-down bulkwark section has increased the size of the swim platform, which is served by a retractable passarelle that doubles up as a five-step swim ladder.

Inside, a new larger interior volume offers up more comfort — as well as increased functionality. If the constant seafaring is taking its toll, Wally’s latest tender is more than equipped for an afternoon nap. There’s even a shower cubicle in which to freshen up after your morning swim — and then slip into something that’ll channel your nautical style…

Out on deck, your lucky guests can relax on plentiful seating and sunbeds, soaking up the rays and enjoying al fresco dining thanks to a galley equipped with two cooking rings, sink and fridges. You can even turn the aft seating away from the dining table to face forward when you fire up those twin engines.

But our favourite feature of the new 48 Wallytender has to be the pioneering Besenzoni anchoring system. With an extending arm simplifying the process, the anchor is hidden behind a flush-fitting hatch in the bow and can be operated with the touch of a button from the helm. Then, all you need do is open the locker hidden behind the helm seating, take out your water toys and kick back.

“The new 48 Wallytender is proof that our very special design DNA continues to thrive under Ferretti ownership,” says Luca Bassani of the new model, revealing that the 14.5 metre boats are currently being built at Ferretti’s Forlì facility.

“Ever since we entered the power market in 2001, the Wallytender has been a symbol of the pure joy of open-air boating,” adds the designer. With this proof, we’re inclined to agree.
