Last week, one of the world’s leading architects Zaha Hadid died suddenly, leaving the worlds of art, design and architecture lost for words. Hadid was one of the most powerful and influential architects to have ever graced the planet, and in her short 66 years she created some of the most incredible buildings of all time:

Heydar Aliyev Centre

What: A conference hall, gallery and museum, designed to play an integral role in the intellectual life of the city.

Dubai Opera House

What: The recently finished Dubai Opera House is a 2,000-seat, multi-format, performing arts centre in the centre of Dubai.

Sheikh Zayed Bridge

What: The 842-metre bridge in Abu Dhabi is said to be the most intricate bridge ever constructed, and the raised lumps are said to replicate the sand dunes of the desert.
